Issue with 3 Player NES/SNES - Krobar - 2024-08-04

Hi,

I'm using SNES9X and BNES with a recent Libreelec nightly build. 2 Player games work fine but I'm not having much luck with getting multi-tap to work. I have three identical controller connected to a USB hub, the controller manager shows the multi-tap connected to port 2 and then the controllers connected to that. Some Snes games complain if I connect the multi-tap to port 1 but are happy with port 2. It seems the games believe 4 player is possible but the extra controllers still don't work. Can anyone offer any help on how to resolve this?

I can't reproduce this on Ubuntu or Windows - multitaps work correctly when configured in the Port Dialog. I tried "Snes9x Current" and one of the bsnes cores, but there could be problems with other snes cores. Can you upload a debug log? I'll keep hunting down the problem once that's posted.

Can you post a debug log? This will allow me to reproduce the issue so that I can fix it.

Ensure that the controllers are correctly configured in the SNES9X settings. Go to the input settings and verify that all controllers are recognized and mapped correctly.

Make sure to choose the right port for the multi-click feature. Sometimes, using a USB hub that is not powerful enough can cause problems with peripherals.

You're hitting a limit not with Kodi but with gaming history. Back in the day many SNES games would only work if the multitap was connected to port 2.
