ALL Black background possible? - Hometv07 - 2024-09-19

Hello. I have been trying to get all black background on this skin without success.

I copied everything from colors/defaults.xml, and created a new named black.xml.

But even if i changed everything in there to "00000000", the Home-screen and the left menu in homescreen (where favorites, weather etc are) and other side-menus in movies for example are still grey. (And some other small stuff).

What am i missing?

I also tried creating a black theme 2/3 years back on my own skin mod, but ended up abandoning the idea due to issues with some of UI textures also being black which made it very difficult to see these textures with a pure black background.

However, I recently took another stab at this and came up with the following config for a black colour:-

    <color name="primary_background">FG333333</color>

    <color name="secondary_background">4D808080</color>

    <color name="dialog_tint">FF262626</color>

The background is not pure black, but is certainly good enough to pass as a black colour. Smile

More importantly, the other black textures included on each window are clearly visible as well (At least when using my oled TV).
Give it a try and see what you think.

@jjd-uk This updated effort came about after sighting this PR 25644 and the problem you had also encountered with the black textures, so maybe this will be of interest to you as well. I did change the button focus colour from gray to orange, as that colour is also used for a lot of info labels throughout the skin and personally found it quite difficult to read some of the labels.....But maybe that's just my aging eyes though!
