Can you help me with Kodi v21.1? - Sam 404 - 2024-10-03

Hello, I use Kodi v21.1 with Windows 10, an Nvidia GTX 1660 Super and Samsung Odyssey G7 [LC32G75T] to watch movies that I have stored on my hard drive.

I don't know why all the videos look so blurry compared to other players. Is there a way to add more sharpening in Kodi or disable that thing that softens the image so much?

I tried changing DXVA to Lanczos3, changing the HQ scalers value to 0%, disabling high precision processing and it did not achieve the level of sharpness as in other players.

I also tried adding sharpening from: Nvidia Control Panel/Video/Adjust Video Image Settings/Edge Enhancement.

But these settings and the Noise Reduction settings have no effect on Kodi.

The ones in Nvidia Control Panel/Video/Adjust Video Color Settings don't work either.

How can I make them work?

Kodi's current settings are the default.

According to the specs this 32-inch 1000R Curved Monitor is G-Sync Compatible, might want to disengage that. The issue might be more of the gfx engine, than of Kodi; given the Nvidia Control Panel/Video/Adjust Video Image Settings have no effect. Suggest using HDMI connection using wasapi and passthrough, render method auto detect, what refresh rate? Try using 60fps or a multiple. Video  DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0?

If you are getting better results from other players, then take advantage of the External players (wiki) capability.
