Fresh install on FireTV: problems with php version - Flumphui - 2024-10-13
I made a fresh install of KODI 21.1 on a FireTV Stick. (It had KODI Leia before which I installed long ago and never came back to configure / use.)
When starting KODI notifies me that it does a migration of add-ons. This message appears however on every startup. Is this normal? I suspect there is a problem in this migration which is why it repeats this every startup.
Some more problems:
- KODI reports the Version Check add-on as outdated and to be disabled. This happens on every startup!
- Attempts to update add-ons al fail.
- I cannot install the KODI log file uploader add-on.
- I cannot install a German language version.
On some such attempts I get an error message saying there is a php version mismatch.

I already posted on the addon subforum, but this is rather a problem with leftovers of an earlier install, thus the post here.
While it is a real problem that I cannot switch to my native language (WAF, you know) and install / update add-ons the install scraped my movies and tv shows just fine. Video playback also works.
I have a Fire TV stick 2nd generation btw. from 2020 (the version that was upgraded with the better remote with TV and volume buttons).
