Kodi 21.1 crashes when it starts scanning for content / Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 - Letloose - 2024-10-13 Hello, My kodi was working very fine, i was in the hospital for a while, now when i start Kodi 21.1 on Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 , It starts scanning but stops and crashes. In the text log file located C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Kodi at the end, it says: 2024-10-13 15:06:37.189 T:10384 info <general>: VideoInfoScanner: Starting scan .. 2024-10-13 15:06:40.846 T:3868 info <general>: CIRServerSuite::Process: failed to connect to irss, will keep retrying every 5 seconds I saw a post here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=367706 where it says to create an advancedsettings.xml with the line and location C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata <scanirserver>false</scanirserver> Apparently it fixed the problem. I created one, but i am not sure of the syntax Text file with advancedsettings.xml and the following inside <advancedsettings version="1.0"> <loglevel>2</loglevel> <scanirserver>false</scanirserver> </advancedsettings> I also deleted addons which i thought would interfere with kodi starting up correctly in : C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons Here are the logs below: https://paste.kodi.tv/bagaxasupi.kodi Thank you very much in advance for your help. RE: Kodi 21.1 crashes when it starts scanning for content / Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 - DarrenHill - 2024-10-13 Before anything else, you need to complete the removal of the banned addons (wiki) that you have/had installed (The Crew). There's still the repo and an orphaned script left behind, the latter of which is still running on your system and doing who knows what... The forum moderators have determined that banned addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time. RE: Kodi 21.1 crashes when it starts scanning for content / Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 - Letloose - 2024-10-13 Thank you I never use that add-on, I installed years ago to try. I tried to remove it in C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons and the scripts related to it. But as I cannot start Kodi, how do I get rid off it completely without being in Kodi please? Thank you on advance for your reply. Once added and Kodi restarted, you should then see it at the top of the log, around line 30 (2024-10-13, 18:33)Letloose Wrote: But as I cannot start Kodi, how do I get rid off it completely without being in Kodi please?Go to C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons , find the The Crew folder in there and delete it.
RE: Kodi 21.1 crashes when it starts scanning for content / Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 - Letloose - 2024-10-13 Thank you very much for your reply Karellen. I did all that, deleted the crew folder in C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons Even searched the folder for scripts left behind and deleted everything related to thecrew. Restarted Kodi several times but it does not seem to take the advancedsettings.xml in account in C:\Users\Letloose\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata Unfortunately, I cannot run further test until next weekend as I'm back in the hospital for a week. I will try again and post back. Thank you again for your support. I hope the post will not be deleted in 3 days because of the banned add-on. I would have known it, would have gotten rid off this a long time ago. It is no use for nothing anyway... RE: Kodi 21.1 crashes when it starts scanning for content / Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011 - PatK - 2024-10-14 I should note the debug log you included didn't have debug turned on, thus we didn't really get to see enough to come up with better advice. Given the frustration you're having atm: I would recommend a Portable mode (wiki) installation ensuring that you launch through the shortcut with the 'Kodi.exe -p' in the shortcuts properties. Once launched and proven to work you could copy over some of the userdata files to see if you can recover your library. |
