Dual-Monitor (Expanded) Libre_Elec-like OS? - JonNada - 2024-10-31 Hello, ive installed libreelec on my laptop. I wanted to use it as a kodi station. I become aware now, that it seems impossible, to use it in a dual-monitor setup with an expanded configuration. This is very much important and essential for me. Is there a similar OS for Kodi to acomplish my task? I dislike the idea to use a windows-based system for a kodi(station) laptop. I hope this explaines enough if not: please ask for details. Thank you. RE: Dual-Monitor (Expanded) Libre_Elec-like OS? - PatK - 2024-10-31 Many of us use a PC connected to a TV (sometimes with an AVR in-between) and often have both displays up. The usual limiting factor is the gfx engine and how that is handled, with laptops for the most part use 'shared' gfx memory and as Kodi is highly dependent in this area, operation becomes hardware. Your dislike of windows is understandable, but it is well supported on this forum in the windows thread, perhaps you need to articulate what you are trying to accomplish and allow work around suggestions. RE: Dual-Monitor (Expanded) Libre_Elec-like OS? - JonNada - 2024-10-31 Not a real dislike in using windows. I just thought it would be a better package to use a whole package. i researched after my posting here a bit more and i think a windows-based kodi-machine is the ideal way to go cause i also want to use HDR without to much of a hazzle. t/c |
