Trakt add-on install failure - ascaaear - 2024-11-19
I just installed Kodi 20.2.0 and then also the Trakt add-on (3.6.1). I use a QNAP NAS TS-453be.
Kodi is running on the "HD Station" application.
On installing the add-on, I get the error: "Trakt error. Check the log for more info."
I tried to authenticate my Trakt account, but nothing comes up. I assume there is supposed to be a "code" of some sort that I submit on the Trakt website?
I of course tried to uninstall and install the add-on again, rebooting the whole NAS. I even found a version 3.7.0 of Trakt which i tried, but the same thing happens.
I hope someone can help me with this one. Thank you in advance.

your post generates more questions than answers
pertinent questions:
first, where did kodi for qnap come from? certainly not from kodi.tv?
is it broken in some way since it's not an official version?
does this addon work in a current release (v21+)?
is v21+ even available to install?

why is kodi installed on a NAS?

This NAS has a HDMI output and designet to run as a media center through their own system called "HD Station", beside of being a ordinary NAS unit. It does have several options for softwares, Kodi being one of them (though, not from QNAPs official repository).
I found it from this side, which provides all kinds of apps and services for QNAP NAS.

As far as I can see, Kodi 21 for QNAP is in the works, but because that is designed for HD Station v.5 (which AFIK is only in beta) and not released yet.
So I am running Kodi 20, as the latest release working on HD Station 4.2.16 (which is the one I am using atm).
Since you ask, I guess its not an "official" release. So maybe its a long shot to make Trakt work?
