Kodi 21.1 crashes when updating video library - starkman - 2024-11-30
Device: ONN 4K pro
OS: Android TV 12
Kodi version 21.1
Kodi crashes in two scenarios:
1) when I enable "update library at startup"
2) If I manually go and "change content" to rescan the contents of some folders with tv series video files

Could someone please help me undestand why it crashes with every library update ?

Since I'm not sure the above files are the correct ones, I once again started KODI, with the "update library on startup" disabled.
I manually went to "update video library" and Kodi crashed.
Here is the log file:

I can see two lines with errors but I cannot understand what they mean

your kodi setup looks over customized, it would be hard to locate any 1 thing that would make kodi crash
be cognisant your device only has 3GB RAM to begin with
red flags that stand out
you're running a vfs addon that wasn't updated to omega, based on a recent post these may cause issues
- vfs.libarchive v20 https://github.com/xbmc/vfs.libarchive/releases
you're using an addon that has in the past caused crashing
- script.embuary.helper v2.0.8
the last addon to run before crash in your log.old was tmdb helper
- plugin.video.themoviedb.helper
my recommendation would be to disable at least those 3 and see if it improves
if not then you need to compare with a clean install then add addons individually until you find out which one is causing the issue
it could also be a collision between addons so be aware of that

I have found and uninstalled the following plugins
- plugin.video.themoviedb.helper
- script.embuary.helper v2.0.8
and the whole Arctic: Zephyr - Reloaded skin that installed and used some of those addons
but I still cannot find this one, to disable it
- vfs.libarchive v20
Any idea how to find this and disable it ?
