Nvidia Shield TV Pro cannot add directories - jeff-gaines - 2024-12-10 My Nvidia Shield TV Pro arrived 2 days ago. I have been playing with media players and found Kodi on Windows brilliant so I installed it on my Shield TV. The installation was easy but I cannot for the life of me add network file locations. I have added the Network location as a NAS to the Shield TV and VLC can see it but adding it as a location for Kodi has me going round in circles. I keep ending up back at the message "there are no files in this location." I have Googled for hours but got nowhere. Can anybody point me to a simple HOWTO for this please? I think the OP already did that if I read his post correctly. But the OP should go into his Android Settings -> Apps -> Kodi -> Permissions and change the Files and media permission to "Allow all the time". RE: Nvidia Shield TV Pro cannot add directories - jeff-gaines - 2024-12-11 Success! I can now browse my network shares from Kodi and play all my media with the bonus that if I select a DVD iso it treats it as a DVD and give me the full DVD menu which I was hoping for but no other media player provides the facility. Problem is I don't know how I got it working except I read all the replies here and followed all the links and "suddenly it worked" which is a variation of "it just worked". I need to go through it and make my own notes (for next time), shall I post those notes here in case it helps others? Many thanks to everybody :-) |
