Startup Problems after Upgrade from v20 to v21 - Flrbb - 2024-12-12

Since update from Kodi v20 to v21, the software does quit every now and then during the first few seconds after I started Kodi. If Kodi does make it beyond the first (lets say) minute, it runs without any problems. Does happen with v21.0 and also v21.1. How to bug track or how to downgrade to v20?

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

I think, I managed to follow your instructions. My (latest) log file is here:

Is that link readable for others than me? :D

Thanks. That is perfect.
Unfortunately, this log does not capture the crash at startup you mention, so difficult to see what is causing it.
But there is a lot happening on startup. You have a large IPTV playlist loading and concurrently you are running both a Video and Music library update.

Try disabling Update on Startup settings for both the music and video library and see if it is still crashing. You don't really need that running at startup every time.

I also note problems with scraping because you are using an incorrect language code. Looking at the show "Sherlock", the language you are requesting is de but it should be de-DE
Go to your Source scraper settings, change the Language from German to English and save it. Go back and change it back to German. That should load the correct language setting. Do that for each of you sources.

Let us know if there is still any crashing.
