Important notice for Windows users...
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version has been updated. As a consequence, some binary addons that were recently updated now use the newer version of the runtime. In some cases trying to run an older version of Kodi Omega or Piers with those addons in use may cause crashing.
If you are experiencing crashing, there are two solutions...
1. Update to v21.2, which comes packaged with the latest Visual C runtime.
If you are using v22, update to a version built on or after 18 Jan 2025 which contains the latest runtime.
2. If for some reason you cannot, or will not, update, then install the Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version downloaded from here... Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version
As a side note, Kodi does not digitally sign its Installers, so a UAC notice may ask you to confirm installation.
If the notice is the same as in the image below, it is safe to install.

can it somehow be made in the settings to turn off the player when the app is exited. this was possible until version 17.5. not available now. when i exit kodi before turning off playback, when i go back to kodi playback still goes. can it be done somehow?
