- r0rschach - 2003-10-02 just curious if anyone has had problems running xbmc with a large lba48 f: drive? it's running fine on both of my non-lba48 boxes, but when i try to launch it on my 300 gig box it just hangs before displaying anything to the screen. i have all extra space going to the f: drive, and no g: if that matters. looks pretty good so far, can't wait to see more. r0rs - Frodo - 2003-10-03 strange, drive f: / g: should work in xbmc unfortunaly i dont got such a big harddisc to try it so hopefully somebody could look @ it? if you look in xbmc/application.cpp you'll see: Quote:in i hoped/thought this should enable lba48 frodo - StarsWan - 2003-10-10 (r0rschach @ oct. 02 2003,22:20 Wrote:just curious if anyone has had problems running xbmc with a large lba48 f: drive? i can't remember what build i tried last night, but i will try the 14-10-2003 cvs and see if it helps. - StarsWan - 2003-10-16 (frodo @ oct. 15 2003,07:22 Wrote:...its in cvs as of 14-10-2003 so in theory lba48 should work nowok, i will make a feedback when a new cvs compiled is available. - StarsWan - 2003-10-16 i have just tested the version cvs 10-16, and i confirm the problem is always there. xbmc freezes at startup maybe for the next release - townfool - 2003-10-16 hi all i've just put todays build of xbmc (16-10-2003) i have lba48 enabled on my bios, however under settings -> system info the f:\ drive is showing as unavailable. in addition to this none of the bookmarks are showing in any of my menus and selecting my videos make the box hang. i am running a 200gb drive with x2_4977 (lba48 enabled) xbox v1.0 hope this helps, if you need any more just ask townfool - Frodo - 2003-10-17 k, i spoke with the avalaunch team. the confirmed that the autodetection of lba48 isnt working yet. i'll change xbmc a bit so you can specify if you wanna use the f: and/or g: drive in xboxmediacenter.xml that should always work frodo - townfool - 2003-10-17 hi frodo, let us know when you've made the changes, i've got two boxes here id be happy to this test on. 1, x2_4977 lba48 patched (partition 7 takes rest), 160 gb hd evox 3921. 2, x2_4977 lba48 patched (partition 6 takes rest), 200 gb hd evox 3921. townfool - Frodo - 2003-10-18 its in the cvs version of today (18-10-2003) so try it frodo - Bradthemac - 2003-10-18 i am running a lba48 enabled bios and have tried the new release of xbmc. when i put the program on my f: it does not start. when i boot off of a cd it works fine. if i start xbmc off of the cd drive, f: is not accessible (nothing shows up under it). hopefully you guys will be able to fix this problem as xbmc is a good program. - StarsWan - 2003-10-19 (frodo @ oct. 18 2003,08:10 Wrote:its in the cvs version of today (18-10-2003)hi frodo, good work , i installed xbmc in partition 1 (e:/apps/xbmc) and it work fine ! thanx (the engine of xbmc seems more powerful than xbmp) however, xbmc doesn't want to show partition 2 (c:\... storage in system information, show "drive c: unavailable" ok it's not a big problem compared with lba48... somebody has same problem ? greets starswan - budwizer - 2003-10-20 i too was having the same problems as a lot of other folks and thought that it was an issue with xbmc not supporting lba48. this is not the case however and i was able to resolve getting it working with a large f drive. here is what i was able to work out on the issue. i was not able to get xbmc (multiple cvs builds) working when using the following configuration: bios: xecuter 4977 w/ lba48 enabled dash: evox 3752 hd: 160gb with large f drive only (no g drive) using this configuration it would simply just freeze on the loading screen from evox. by upgrading to the following i am able to get it working: bios: evox m7 dash: evox 3921 hd: same configuration (large f drive) when using this configuration xbmc loads and i am able to run the various pieces of the application. i am not sure if the issue was related to the dash or the bios but it definitely was not xbmc's lack of lba48 support, at least not in my case. i may flash back down to the 4977 bios and see if it still works since there is a feature in the 4977 bios that i need that the m7 does not currently support. hope this is helpful to anyone else having issues with getting it working. - celltech - 2003-10-21 i echo the comments of starswan. i tried 10-18 on both e: and f: and it worked each time. however c: will not show any files. i built a new 200gb drive with f: taking all available space, it formatted at 192gb. using 4977 lba48 and evox 3901... keep up the great work! |
