- dragonforce99 - 2003-12-07 sorry if this sounds rather stupid but i have no freakin' idea how to use shoutcast on xbmc and i really want to be able to listen to some stations on the xbox. i got myself the shoutcast pls downloader and now have a ton of pls on my pc. i then uploaded these to my xbox. xbmc "sees" them but when i click on any of these nothing happens. what do i need to do so that i can actually listen to the stations? do i need to edit the xboxmediacenter.xml file and add something special? help is appreciated. best regards. - san9jay - 2003-12-07 there have been reports that in some builds of xbmc the dns lookups would fail. try editing a single pls file and replace the host address with an ip address and see if it works. check your dns setup in the xboxmediacenter.xml and ensure that the dns it is pointing too works. - dragonforce99 - 2003-12-07 hi, thanks for your reply. i checked one of test .pls files and this is whats inside of it: Quote:[playlist] so it already does have an ip - still no go - or did i misunderstand you? - Daggis - 2003-12-13 i tried this for my first time yesterday : 1. on my pc, opened http://www.shoutcast.com 2. right-click on the "tune-in" icon, and saved the file as <radiostation>.pls 3. transferred this pls file to my music directory on my xbox. 4. opened the pls file in mediacenter!!!! everything worked ok,great!!! - big-d - 2003-12-15 does anyone have the latest version working? i still cant get mine to go? |
