I'm wondering - why need to use together and Broadcom video decoding processor and
integrated graphics core ??
even to use only Broadcom will not enough ?

I'm not sure why they are choosing to use a broadcom processor instead of some intel only processor, but it'll certainly make the jobs of those working with broadcom easier.

Nvidia has said that the new Ions will use a Via Nano which uses a little more power but is much faster then Atom. For XBMC its probably a better choice.

Because Intel IGPs are crap, so they need a Broadcom processor to make up for their weaknesses. The Broadcom is only a decoding processor not a full 2D/3D GPU so they can't only use the Broadcom processor.
AFAIK, the ION will still work with the new Atoms, the Intel IGP will simply be disabled.
