first, where is the much referred to faq? i'd like to read it as i suggest many of my questions are covered there.

quickly,

i read about the standard 137 gb hard disk limit but see many people adding 200-250gb drives. i'm considering the modification to primarily use the xbox as a music server to replace my cd changer and to save off my sons games so that i can stop buying several of them multiple times due to standard child handling. am i best off staying below that limit or is it really not any issue and i should just go ahead and get a large drive? if so, any limitations on brands and models? i would likely go for maxtor but do i need to be aware of needing to turn off features and set jumpers, etc?

given my need what is the right mod chip (i have a friend willing to do the mods but would prefer solderless all the same if it's not a drawback) to get and where should i get it?

is there any chance of wma 9 lossless support in the near future as that's what i have on my pc already, though converting to ogg or flac is not a major deal?

i do apologize for the basic nature of my question and am willing to hit the faq. many thanks for any help you can offer. i've very excited about the possibilities as i've been looking for such a solution for more than a year.

best place to find answers to your questions is www.xbox-scene.com (since they are not directly related to xbmc).

if i remeber correct wmv9 works already (but i am not sure).

i've been there and not found the answers to these questions.

and someone has checked for me. wma9 is supported. wma9 lossless does not currently work.
