- Vermillion - 2005-01-10 hello all, i'm looking for some help on forwarding ports of the xbmc kaiui to another internal network that contains the kaiengine. does anyone know what ports the xbmc kaiui uses to connect to the kaiengine?? i'm gonna try putting the computer out on the dmz as i'm sure that will work, but i'd rather port forward if possible. - duke nukem - 2005-01-13 if you are using xbmc or avalaunch to play online, you don't need to forward any ports. you just open the kai config tool and under profiles select dashboard only. fill out your details in xbmc and you are ready to go. when using avalaunch, select the profile normal kai use en log in on your pc. avalaunch will detect the kai engine automatically good luck - Vermillion - 2005-01-18 well, i wasn't talking about port forwarding for the kaiengine, i was talking about the kaiui. here's my setup: i have 4 xboxes all on the same lan as a pc that runs the kaiengine. all of these are behind a router (linksys) and work as an internal network by themselves. outside of that, i have 1 xbox in another location that is on the same range of ip addresses as i set for the router. i need this one xbox to connect to the pc behind the router, so i figured the kaiui of xbmc uses certain ports to connect itself to the kaiengine, which is what i'm trying to find. i put the computer in the dmz of the router and now it connects to the computer, but i can't see any games. from that point i think that's an xlink kai issue. i'd still like to know what ports the kaiui uses to attach to the kaiengine if anyone knows. thanks - jardon - 2005-01-23 i don't know if this will help but try setting the xbmc logging to debug in the xboxmediacenter.xml. the generated log shows a stack ports xbmc using. also jkaiui uses port 34522 to talk to the engine running on wrt54g/s router. hope this helps. - SARRS - 2005-06-30 i can't tell you what port it is but you could always connect a hub between a pc and the xbox with kai and use a sniffer. just make sure it's not a router or a switch! |
