Getting back to the 'porting' question...
Unless WebOS is purchased by a consumer powerhouse like HTC it is likely 1 of 2 things will happen...
1) WebOS will become a commercial focused OS
- set top devices
- specialty devices for commercial needs (medical, inventory/warehousing, automotive, etc)
2) WebOS will die
Either way... IMO it would not be a wise way to spend valuable dev time for XBMC. I'd much rather see those dev resources focused on the larger picture and more important areas for the mass community...

Port to Android - likely Android will jump again when Intel fully supports
Port to ARM - ARM devices will surge soon and provide low-cost, tiny devices for home and commercial use.
