Sad
i have tried everything that i have been able to find on why xbmc and kai will not connect. i have through this forum, xbmc forum and xlink kai forum and maybe its just exhaustion but i have run into a brick wall. i can play the games on my xbox by controlling kai through the pc but i want to be able to control it through xbmc. every time i tried to log in through xbmc it tells me "the service is not connected, would like to try to reconnect" but it will not connect at all. i have forwarded my port on my router and my firewall and i have put my engine ip address in xbmc, like i said i can play the games through the pc but i amd trying to use xbmc to control kai. please help

are you only running the engine on the pc?

are the username and password in settings?
For python coding questions first see http://mirrors.xbmc.org/docs/python-docs/

yes and yes

when you say you put your engine ip address in kai i'm assuming you mean your lan ip right (usually starts with 192.168.something.something)? not your actual isp assigned ip.

also, did you setup the kai engine on the pc to:

accept ui connections from:
any ip address

close engine after
never

ok this what u have to do. (1) do u have ava? if u do good, now (2)go to settings(when u first trun on your box u know how u have a list of settings ,games, xbmc, etc etc.) then go to networks,u see how it says x-link kai? ok. now go to where it says autostart kai on boot: put it where it says enabled.and your good to go. now when u go to xbmc u will it in the right hand corner

why use ava? and what has that got todo with xbmc? Huh
read the xbmc online-manual, faq and search the forums before posting! do not e-mail the xbmc-team asking for support!
read/follow the forum rules! note! team-xbmc never have and never will host or distribute ms-xdk binaries/executables!
