Xbmc external player
#1
hi,

i have xbmc installed on my minix neo g4.
rooted the device and installed cifs manager in order
to mount my qnap nas media folder.

i used mx player, since it is the default on my neon distribution.
but mx player has some problems with certain video files.
so i tried to play thoose files with wondershare, everything ok.

now i want to set wondershare as default player.
i edited the playercorefactory.xml.
the problem i have, wondershare opens, but doens't play the video.
instead it shows his "home" screen with different videos.

what am i doing wrong ?

thx in advance

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

Don't know anything about wondershare, but does it have a command line interface? In other words, can you launch the application via a command line and pass it parameters such as file name and other runtime options?

hi and thx,

i have no idea, i think so, cause i saw in various threads modified playercorefactory.xml files with the wondershare player in it.

Did those threads provide working examples of playercorefactory.xml files using wondershare as the player? In other words, did users on those threads just ask for help on using this player in playercorefactory.xml (as you're doing here) or did they actually say it worked for them? If it's the latter, did you verify your modified file is consistent with those other examples in terms of the statements added/modified to use the wondershare player?

yes they did. at least i guess.

i have the xbmc hub xaf build installed, and in the xml file the player is already included, but not standard.

so i thought/think, it should work Smile
