i've seen that alot of people want a samba server for the purpose or sharing your music and such with your pc, so you can keep it on the xbox for everyone on the network to get to. well here's a quick workaround to get you guys off the developers backs:
put your music and videos in a folder in the web directory (inside xbmc dir), and then in itunes or wmp or winamp or whatever you use, go to open url instead of open file, and then use http://xboxip/music_or_whatever_folder_s...e/song.mp3
crude, but it works almost perfectly, a little less so in itunes, but still works. should see no reason why it wouldnt also work for movies (actually, it should work better, as movies tend to be in less volume than music, music would be a prick to import all your songs lol)
<to-developers>i dont know how to change the home directory of the webserver, so i cant really tell you how you would get the http server to point to your current music/video folders. given it's a small server, i dont imagine it supports aliases either, but if it did, that's would be an excelent way to do it. </to-developers>
