Hi all,

I'm a newbie to Kodi (40 years as a programmer, though) and can't get the remote on an iPad to find my HTPC.

The PC is running a fresh install of Win7 and Kodi 15.0 (Isengard).

The iPad is running iOS 8.4 and Kodi Remote 1.5.3.

When I try to set up the remote and follow the instructions about how to enable it on the PC, I get the spinning circle on the iPad...

Is there something else to enable on the PC side?

check the win firewall rules, usually are the guilties. let me know

Thanks for the hint; I tried it out (turned off firewalls in the control panel, rebotted) - it had no effect at all...

Is there more to disabling Windows firewalls than the control panel settings?

mm strange, let's start from beginning... try to connect to http://<kodi_ip>:<kodi_port> from the iDevice safari and let me know if you can access to the web interface. If not, there is a network issue between the iDevice and the kodi appliances.
