I ended up using my Macbook with the Aerial screensaver downloaded here https://aerialscreensaver.github.io/ since it has an option to download and cache all of the videos in whatever format you like. Then I copied the new ones over to my cached directory on my Kodi box so i have all of the current ones in there. Then I'm using this add-on to run local downloaded files only.
I had tried to look at the code to understand what filenames the plugin is looking for. Because I would actually love to add some more videos to the local folder (not just Aerial views). Does the name of the files matter or it's just "whatever is in that folder gets played"?

I haven't looked at it to see, I just placed the new files in the local folder and assumed it is just cycling through the local files. I honestly haven't watched it close enough to verify that it's playing all the newer files, I just assumed it was since some of the older files were in different name formats already.

I think it won't be using new files. If you go into addon settings, you can check that the entries under Videos are functional even when using local videos only. Say you activate only 'Alaskan Jellies', those are the only videos the screensaver will use. As such, I am pretty sure extra videos will be completely ignored.
Maybe it wouldn't be hard for a coder to modify the addon, in order to enable extra local videos. Much to my dismay, I'm not that person.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).
