I thought he may select a .m3u playlist from his list and then from context menu use "play".

Hi guys,
The long playlists are indeed usually played in random mode, thus keeping the same music "characteristics" but not the same songs every time. For example - playing multiple albums by similar artists.
Can you point me to your solutions?
Thanks again!

I'd use Nodes for this as they are dynamic and easy to share with other Kodi installations. No issues with speed on them I believe.
I really don't see a solution if you insist on using file mode with playlists (I assume for compatibility with other software)
To me. HTPC software should be about databases and libraries otherwise you might as well use winamp or foobar.

I fully agree that HTPC is about software and databases. However, I am also facing some issue with M3U playlists. from what I understand, these cannot be added to the Kodi library, so I need to manualy copy them into the playlist folder in the user folder. Or am I missing something?
