Moving the DB locally
#1
I'm currently hosting TV/Movie DBs on MySQL . Found it to be fantastic over the past few years, but my needs have migrated, and I'm likely to fair better with a local DB for now.

Is it possible to move the data back?

Best to use the Import-Export function of Kodi.

Exactly that - back-up your database (to a single file is fine), then stop Kodi, remove your advancedsettings.xml (or at least remove the MySQL section of it), restart Kodi.

Once it's gone through its process of recreating the database locally (if you don't already have an old one around) do a reimport of the data you saved and you should be good to go.

It's basically the same procedure as setting up the MySQL (wiki) database in the first place, but in reverse.
