Solved Multi-part episode help
#1
I have a movie that's part of a series on theTVDB and would like to keep it categorized with the TV series and not as a stand-alone movie.

My problem is that the movie is in two parts at different resolutions so I'm unable to mux them together. According to the wiki, they have to be listed on theTVDB as parts to work correctly which it isn't. Is there a way to manually edit the nfo/s to have them play as a single episode? I could then set the nfo/s as read only to avoid an accidental scrape.

My only thought was to map them to consecutive numbers beyond the last special, but then my play order would be borked without hand editing everything. Any insight is most appreciated.

Cheers

You cannot combine multi-file episode parts to play as one episode the same way you do with multi-file movies.

If you cannot remux into a single episode file, then they will need to be listed as two separate episodes.

Which movie, which tv show and where is the movie positioned relative to the season/episodes?

I was afraid of that but didn't want to start hand editing the nfos if there was an easier way I was overlooking.

The show/movie is Gunbuster. It's episode s00e10 and there is one more movie at episode s00e11. My thought was to move my 2 parts to eps 10, 11 and move 11 to 12.

Thanks. I see the movie and where it falls in relation to the other episodes.

You can do that but you then need to be aware you will need to rename episode 12 to 13 and so on, if they are ever released.

You will need NFO files otherwise the scraper will provide the wrong info.

Rename the file names as follows:
first part to Gunbuster S00E10,
second part to Gunbuster S00E11 and
what was episode 11 now becomes Gunbuster S00E12

Create the nfo files based on that file naming.

Thanks for the help!

I also edited the titles to Parts 1 & 2 and left myself a note in the plot just in case, but having more specials come out would be worth the trouble of further editing for sure. (not holding my breath)
Made them read only of course.
