I have a HDHomerun and use it through an Nvidia Shield.  Since I don't want to pay $60 year to DVR my shows, I use the android Live Channels app.  This does work, but it awkward at best.  You can't skip forward, only fast forward, and you can't set any buffer for overrun or starting early.  Anyway, is there anyway to use Kodi and the Live Channels so it is available through the KODI interface?

yes, but I am pretty sure that unless you pay for the DVR fee to SiliconDust you can only watch live tv, not record it.  Android Live Channels lets you record without having to pay a monthly or yearly fee.
