Try the new build package which was released yesterday. If this doesn't work after a clean install (remove userdata etc) than I'm out of ideas.
Do you have more than one dvd drive or something like daemon tools running?

WISo looks like we found the culprit, I have Daemon tools Pro with and IDE drive installed as the virtual drive. IT seems to be interacting some how with the DVD Player. anyways uninstalled it and the latest version works great.

Cool.
ATM XBMC can only grab the first DVD drive which libcdio delivers. Weird is that you said the drive letter returned was the right one with the real drive.
