Random black (empty) screens?
#1
Hey guys,

I posted this originally in the Aeon forum since I thought it was unique to Aeon but after playing with Aeon, MediaStream and the default skin, and having this problem with all 3, I am assuming it's a XBMC issue.

My original post was here: http://www.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?p=208145

In a nutshell, what seems to be happening is upon clicking into one of the "main" categories (as far as I can tell at this point it's completely random) all I get is a black screen.

For example:

Clicking into "Movies" - works fine.
Back out, click into "Music" - works fine
Back out, click into "TV Shows" - boom, black screen.

Let me stress, this is just an example as sometimes I can click 20 times in and around before it acts up, other times it's the second category I go into.

My first question is, has anyone else experienced the issue I am describing here? If so, is there a config, or setting that is able to help?

My system is as follows:

- AMD AM2 5000
- 2GB RAM
- Windows Vista
- GeForce 7300 GT

Thanks!

I've been having the same thing happen ever since I started using XBMC for windows. I still have a lot of instability issues on Vista. I'll post a log later also.

Hey guys,

Here's my log as it just happened.

That's me at the end trying to go back home 3 times... totally black screen at that point.

Hope it helps!

Seems something is doing nasties with memory (Exceptions).

Unfortunately unless you can work out exactly why it happens (i.e. remove the "random" element) it's pretty tricky to fix.

Cheers,
Jonathan
