omg - had similar issues to this in terms up issues with MyMusic82; using mariadb.
pulled my hair out on this to the point of restoring to a known good system configuration, kodi bare install, flicking settings on / off in kodi amending the advancedsettings.xml to do just videos (yep just commented out the music section) rebuilt music library using kodi default db ... right nightmare even wen looking through the logs as some (picking out issues with old plugins no longer viable) on an install that has served very well until now.
ended up doing what someone suggested here - dropped the DB, fixed the mariadb / mysql installation as it appears that there was an update to it that didnt upgrade the musicdb (video one was fine!)
use the mysql_upgrade function.
once more the world is a better place, and thanks to everyone who submitted working info
