I have movies on 4 NAS units. In order to view these movies in the last version of Kodi I was able to go to Files, Add Files, Browse "Windows network (SMB)", Select "Workgroup" which would then display all my NAS units where I could see the shares on them and allow me to enter my credentials and add them to my menu.
Now with Matrix, I can no longer see "Workgroup" when I Browse "Windows network (SMB). I had a Kodi backup on my network sitting on one of my NAS units I was trying to restore and luckily it was on my newest NAS that supports Samba. I found that I could see the shares on my PR WD NAS via the Zeroconf browser in Kodi due to that NAS supporting Samba but not the other 3 NAS units.
After restoring my backup of a different build that upgraded and migrated the db successfully just last night, (these are all Sony Android TVs running Kodi from the Android TV) I was then able to see all the shares on the 3 NAS units that do not support Samba. I am able to Edit the shared file serverpath (ie: smb://servername/sharename/folder) so I assume I can manually enter the serverpath from scratch, but that makes a simple thing if it will work tedious having to type all that in rather than picking it from a list in a browse screen.
So far, out of 4 TVs, 2 of them have migrated successfully, and one did not which is what required the restoration of a build that did. The 4th TV has not downloaded Matrix yet. Is this something that will be addressed in a patch or future version? Or is support for browsing SMB gone? Thank you very much for this great app and any info you can give me!
