Solved Problem/Question about correct resolution 4096x2160p vs. 3840x2160p

Hi

I have a question/problem about the correct resolution. I have this two TV's:

1. Samsung 65" QLED 8K Q950 (https://www.samsung.com/ch/tvs/qled-tv/q...950rbtxzg/)
2. Samsung 50” The Frame 4K (https://www.samsung.com/ch/lifestyle-tvs...s03tauxzg/)

For the 8k TV I can choose between the following resolutions:
...
3840x2160p @ 60.00
3840x2160p @ 60.00
4096x2160p @ 60.00

For the 4k TV I can choose between the following resolutions:
...
3840x2160p @ 30.00
4096x2160p @ 30.00
4096x2160p @ 30.00

When I set the resolution to 4096x2160p on the 8k TV, the picture (e.g. live tv) has an approx. 5 cm wide black bar at the top and bottom. With the 4k TV at 4096x2160p the complete picture is filled, that means there is no black bar. Why is this like that? Why the picture is not completely filled on the 8k TV with the same resolution? I think it is correct to choose for both TV 4096x2160p with the highest refresh rate. Or do I have to choose a lower resolution? By the way, why I can choose some resolutions more than one time (e.g. 3840x2160p @ 60.00 and 3840x2160p @ 60.00 respectively 4096x2160p @ 30.00 and 4096x2160p @ 30.00)?

Thank you

Generally 3840x2160 will give you the best results for commercial media, I'd leave it at this resolution. This post explains it more https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/3915...ost2538088

Thank you FXB78. So I think the 3840x2160p resolution is ok. But why with the 4k TV the Display is fully filled out? Is it perhaps because this TV has a maximum resolution of 3840x2160p? And why there are some resolutions listed twice?
