Solved Playback error
#1
I have a single TV Show which kodi is unable to play. The exact same behavior occurs on both my Raspberry Pi and Windows installation.
Log can be found here: https://paste.kodi.tv/avidupediy.kodi

Reproduction steps:
1. Restart Kodi
2. Try to play any file for the show which has issues.
3. A "Playback failed" error is showed with the following message: "One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message."
Optional:
4. Try to play the any file of the show which has issues.
5. The "Remove episode from library" prompt is shown with the message: "This file is no longer available. Would you like to remove it from the library?"

The last message is false as the file is available and can be played through a different media player on the same windows pc.
Different files with the same extension (.mkv), Video encoding (HEVC), Audio  encoding (AAC) work perfectly fine.
The show has been reencoded from h264 to HEVC to allow proper playback on the Raspberry Pi.
All video files have been scraped from a smb drive and data is saved in a central mariaDB database.
Other files with the same encoding that do work are also located on the same drive and database.

I suspect the error is related to the reencode but I have no clear information on why playback is failing whatsoever.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a link to a Raspberry Pi log file as well?

Is there a full MediaInfo listing for one of those re-encoded videos?
Perhaps also a sample of couple of seconds of such a video?

Raspberry Pi log: https://paste.kodi.tv/ihabavijig.kodi
MediaInfo export: https://paste.kodi.tv/sumaxebexu

While trying to splice a few second part of the video the following happened:
I tried to play the first few seconds spliced into a separate file which refused to play when put in the place where the original file was.
But when I tried to play the original file in a temp folder within the original folder it suddenly worked!

So I'm suspecting the  issue is not with the file, but with either the database or the player.

I have found the issue.
The file was at "Made in Abyss/Season 01/Made in Abyss S01E02.mkv".
But in the library the series was listed as Made In Abyss. (most locations in my Aeon Nox: Silvo use full caps for titles so this was easily overlooked).

After changing the title in both the folder and the files all files play as expected.
