Stuttering video after upgrading video card
#1
Hi Guys, Been with Kodi awhile and pulling my hair out with this one. Video card crapped out the other day on my Win7 htpc so I picked up a 1030 replacing a 620. I have a 4k tv hooked up to the pc.
To update drivers on Nvidia I had to push through a bunch of windows updates. I then updated the nvidia drivers and after launching Kodi I've been getting low fps ever since. Unwatchable. The Gui is also very sluggish. The desktop is snappy. Played a video in VLC and worked fine. Then played one with hd audio and video was fine but the audio had issues. Fired up kodi again and the sound is fine but choppy playback. Changed buffer from 3 to 2. Made sure Directsound wasn't engaged, changed DXVA to Software and still getting choppy playback. Would a bad hard drive cause this? Haven't seen any hard drive errors. Log below.

There is too much going on in that log file, IMO.
To get a less messy log file, try the following:

- Rename your current Kodi profile to something else temporary, and let Kodi setup a fresh profile with initial settings
- No installing of add-ons

- Use to the default Estuary skin (and not use any other skin)
- Enable debugging in Kodi
- EXIT Kodi (and restart whole Windows 7 for my part).

- Start Kodi, with debugging still enabled.
- Start one problem video (don't update libraries first or anything else) and play the one video for a couple of minutes.
- Stop the video
- Directly exit Kodi
- Upload the new log file.

Added the addon FFMPEG direct last night and that seemed to solve the problem for a little bit. Smooth graphics until a restart and went back to choppy. So I deleted profiles and installed from scratch. So far working well until I had a few stutters on a video I posted before the log. Those played during the log ran well. Should I be running as render method Auto, DXVA with accleration activated or Software?  Or change buffers from 3 to 2 at all? Thanks
