Since Linux is case sensitive, most studio icons are not recognized for METHOD 2 in Linux system. For example, the disney+.png file needs to be changed to Disney+.png to be recognized.

Anyway I need to add some local studio icons in my country and replace some icons 'cause some studios have same name. Since METHOD 2 is not working for Linux systems I tried to create new Textures.xbt but I have trouble with with Kodi Texture Tool v3.0.1. 64bits windows.
Kodi(Linux, Android, Windows,...) cannot recognize the Icons in the new Textures.xbt I created.
When I try with a few png files to create Textures.xbt sometimes it works, but with the whole (over 7000 png files) won't work.
I have no idea why this happens... Could you please give me some advice to create Textures.xbt?

Edit : Well... I finally managed to build Textures.xbt successfully with addon building method without using Kodi Texture Tool.

If it is case sensitive, it would make sense for you to create a master list you can provide here and it can be corrected going forward to ensure full user compatibility.  Without someone to speak to which are wrong, no one is going to make any changes, so if you're up to it, build a list and I'm sure it will be modified to help everyone out.

The runtime mentioned in the thread is what is required to ensure it builds the texture file, I have some work to sort out why newer versions can be hit or miss, but right now I don't have the bandwidth for that, but intend to get around to fix it.

Happy New Year, everybody! Big Grin

Since I began working with the add-on, I started renaming the logos I work with using standard grammar, i.e., Disney+. However, the old Textures Tool sometimes renamed some names to all lower case, e.g., Disney+ --> disney+ all by itself. Maybe @kittmaster (Chris) has an idea. I have not checked if the new version of the Textures Tool does the same.

If someone else can confirm this naming issue, I think I can begin to work on it so the textures.xbt file is universally compatible.

Thanks for reporting this.

I ran a few tests, I compiled some files that were extracted from the latest and greatest and they are all lower case on extraction. I did a bulk test rename on like 20 files with first letter capitalized, compiled and decompiled and they came out all lowercase.

Do we need to have the first letter capped and will it affect existing operation for kodi rendering?

Happy New Year, Chris.

For Windows, I think not (since it runs smoothly with Method 2). But based on recent reports, if Linux is case-sensitive, it could be a huge problem: we would have to account for each variation of a name, i.e.,
2am films
2Am films
2AM films
2Am Films
2AM Films
This would also be true, I think, for Raspberry Pi. For macOS, iOS, tvOS, and webOS, I also do not know. If somebody reads this post and could confirm how it behaves in the respective OS, I would be very grateful.
