Hi
What I'd like to have: when browsing through my movie collection (*) it would start playing a preview of that movie. Ideally in the foreground.
How I'd expect it to work: kodi detects something like a
(*) even better if it waits 1 or 2 seconds of inactivity before starting to play the preview
I've found some old and also some contradictory information on this. But couldn't get it to work.

Since some people got animated posters working I guess kodi does some animations. How do I get it to work?
Additionally, I'm also wondering if it's possible to get this to work for other video files like home recordings. So no tmdb entry, no poster, no .nfo file (or a very crude one). So folders with just a `$movie.mp4` and a `$movie-animatedfanart.gif` or the like files.
Thanks

Quote:> The most comprehensive support for animated artwork is Skin Helper Service, which has taken to naming these as "animatedposter" and "animatedfanart". New animated movie posters (and textless posters / keyart which could be named "animatedkeyart")But no real explanation how to get it to work.

Quote:> If you are already using local artwork, just place the .gif files the same way like your other artwork types are placed. If your movies are in folders and your clearlogo is called Moviefilename-clealogo.png, then use for poster Moviefilename-animatedposter.gif and for fanart Moviefilename-animatedfanart.gif.I added a
$movie-animatedfanart.gif
to the movie folder, then refreshed my library, but it doesn't work.Since some people got animated posters working I guess kodi does some animations. How do I get it to work?
