Top of the screen flashing (pic included)

I just installed the new atlantis xbmc on my HTPC with XP sp3. My HTPC has a p5q mobo and radeon 4850 with the latest drivers and is connected to my plasma via HDMI. When I open up XBMC in full screen mode (windowed is fine) thereis about 2 inches on the screen that shows up as flashing. My settings for video resolution is set to auto and i can't seem to get this fixed. I'll include a pic of what i'm talking about. Any suggestions?

I noticed now when i change my resolution to 720p, the screen is perfect. However, when i restart the program, when it loads, it does the same thing so I have to change it to another resolution then back to 720p.
