Tv show without name, seasons and episodes shows up after every library refresh
#1
Sad
Hello,

I'm facing a problem that I cannot fix and I hope you can help me.

Every time i refresh my library, the first show under "Tv shows" is a "non-existing" show without a name and without any episodes or season in it - Screenshot: https://imgur.com/8ErKOrB

Every other single show is listed correctly and there are no other problems using Kodi. Everything else works like a charm.

These are my settings for scraping my tv shows: https://imgur.com/UGQbPnC and https://imgur.com/kVovSil

I'm using a NVIDIA Shield Pro with Kodi 19.3 (I don't know if that matters in this case).

Any idea where the problem lies?

Thanks a lot for your support! I really appreciate it.

Kind regards from Germany

Are you sure it isn't the parent folder entry and the skin you are using just doesn't know how to display it.

Go to Settings->Media->General->Show parent folder items - and uncheck it and see if it disappears.

There are no parent folders - all shows are stored on an external hard drive connected to a Raspberry Pi without any parent folders. The HDD is called "Serien 1".

I'm not talking about folders on you hard drives.

Kodi has a special parent folder item that allows you to return to the previous library level. It's always the very first item in a list.

Did you try the option I mentioned?

Also, check which TV Show the entry is pointing to...

@roidy : Yes I tried the option you mentioned, but without success: https://imgur.com/rD0D9k
@Karellen : The entry path is pointing straight to my samba share HDD but without mentioning a show name. All I get is information about the studio and it appears to be spanish content: https://imgur.com/qlfThas

Edit: I also checked the root folder of "Serien 1" for hidden files or shows and there are none. I guess TVDB somehow has problems with the folder / HDD / path name "Serien 1" and scans some random stuff. But of course it would be great to keep the name and find a solution without renaming the path / HDD / folder structure.

Have you set the folder above your TV shows folder as the root by mistake?

I don't think so: https://imgur.com/UGQbPnC

"Serien 1" is my hard drive which is connected via USB to my Kodi hardware (Raspberry Pi).

Can you delete that show from your library again. Enable debug mode in System>Settings>Logging, restart Kodi and run the scrape again, or whatever you did previously, so that the phantom show is scraped again.
Exit Kodi and post the Debug Log and we can check what is happening.

Here's the log:

Edit: After looking at the log file, I found out that there was an empty folder called "Fotos" on the root directory as well. I deleted it and now the "wrong" show won't get scraped anymore. Problem solved!

To be honest, I have no idea why Kodi pointed me to the root directory when I looked at the information of the wrong entry (see: https://imgur.com/qlfThas) - I totally expected that path to be "smb://kodi/serien 1/Fotos/" now that I found out what caused the problem.

Because I don't think you looked in the correct location. It has to be above the Refresh button as I showed in my image. Your screenshot does not show that. Which skin are you using?
Anyway, glad you were able to solve it.

I'm using Aura Mod. You are right, I looked at a different location because my skin didn't show the directory at the same spot as your image did (at least I didn't see it, sorry if I overlooked it).

Nevertheless, thanks a lot for your support! I really appreciate it.
