Kodi shows two HDMI audio output, but system has only one
#1
Hello,

my Kodi installation shows two HDMI audio output devices:
  • ALSA: HDA Intel PCH, HDMI
  • ALSA: HDA Intel PCH, SAM SAMSUNG on HDMI
The latter works, the former doesn't. Unfortunately, by default always the first is selected on startup, so I have to change it manually to get sound.

The system has only one HDMI on the mainboard. It is an Asrock Q1900M Pro3 board with integrated Celeron J1900 CPU.

I am using Libreelec 11.0.1 with Kodi 20.1.0.

The kodi machine is connected via HDMI to a Yamaha AVR. I already tried using getedid, but that didn't work. The order in which I turn on devices doesn't matter, problem also occurs when the kodi machine is turned on last.

What can I do?

have you tried blacklisting the audio device you do not want used?

I am not sure this is what you meant, but googling "kodi blacklist audio device" led me to an explanation of advancedsettings.xml, and how to lock GUI settings with that. That apparently did the trick. Thank you!
