noob question about organizing media

Hello !
my question sound really simple yet it seems really difficult to find clear informations about it so I'm trying here Wink
Is it possible to have a menu that link to a specific folder of content ?
let's say I have movies and I want also a menu that has movies for the children.. same things for tv shows.. tv shows for adults and tv shows for kids.
I can't find a way to separate stuff !!(?)
Favourites I have to select them one by one and I can only have 1 favourites section so looks like no go..
In Plex it's like the basis of how it works.. you create a section and link what content is in there.. in kodi it kind of want to eat them all at once and it gets very complicated to try to sort things out after..
I hope I am missing something.. I'm sure there is a way Wink
thanks for any help!

Smart Playlists and Nodes are your friends.  Just store your Adult and Children titles in separate folders.  Then create a smart playlist for each one using the directory as a rule (Path contains CHILDREN, Path contains ADULT, etc).  Then you can modify nodes to only point to what you want.  The wiki has good walkthroughs of that stuff.

Alternatively, you can use a skin that allows for heavy customization (like Estuary MOD) and really customize your home screen using smart playlists to whatever you want.  That's how I have my system set up and it works great once you take the time to get it set how you want it.
