You'll need to look into each sharing solution for the exact specifics on upgrades but that's generally the case.  I run Mezzmo and author the Mezzmo Kodi addon, so I am confident of those steps .  My goal with it is to provide the highest level of integration and automation.  I want to spend my time watching my content, not maintaining my infrastructure Smile    Not all sharing solutions handle Kodi upgrades exactly the same so that is something to look into more closely.

You've had a Jellyfin expert weigh in.  I can't personally speak for Emby but again they all tend to lean in a direction to make this easier.  I'd suggest doing a bit of research and asking questions before jumping into a sharing solution.  Each has strengths and weaknesses.  I always recommend making a list of your sharing solution priorities and rank them.  That can help guide you.  None are perfect but their goal is to improve the overall Kodi experience.  Their real value begins to show when you have multiple Kodi clients or a mix of Kodi and non-Kodi clients.

Thanks,

agreed, the offerings are all quite similar so it really comes down to what platform you want it to run on and it if it happens to have that 1 feature you have to have then you can lean in a direction

i dont think there is a bad way to go here, kodi predates these streaming server options but i feel that if it didn't then it would have had them natively built in from the first release
