Mark All Watched

I've been copying my DVD and Blu-Ray collection into my Kodi library, but have encountered a minor snag...

   When I update the library, it (naturally...) marks the video as UnWatched.  Now, being the lazy sort that I am, I would like to mark them as 'Watched' without having to go through them one at a time.

  Is there a way to do this - either as an add-on or native - or am I stuck with going through hundreds of files to update them separately...? Sad

Press 'w' or bring up the context menu and select 'Mark as watched' on the folder that contains them.

Doesn't seem to work. I remember you were able to do that once.

   I'll give it a try tomorrow...

Had some time to try it today.  Hitting 'w' on series directories marks the entire series as Watched... but I had to do the movies one at a time.  Oh, well - didn't take as long as I thought... Big Grin

Correction: pressing 'w' doesn't work but the context menu does have 'Mark as watched' on it.

Actually, pressing 'w' DOES work - I tried it successfully last night.

same here on debian, checked my keyboard.xml and it is there so if it is not working on a system perhaps it has been remapped and needs to be changed back

<w>ToggleWatched</w>

edit:

according to this it has been there for the last 14 years - https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blame/maste...d.xml#L616

   (Should've mentioned that I'm running Kodi on Windows... Tongue )

There does seem to be one caveat, though...

If I mark a series directory as 'Watched' - it doesn't show when I add new content.  (Next season, for example...)

No biggie - just thought I'd mention.  Big Grin

Well it's new content so hasn't been watched yet.

Right - so one would expect it to show up on the 'Recently Added' list... which it doesn't.

check how you have date added set, it will use current date, file creation date or file modified date

i am guessing it is currently using one of the file dates which is older and therefor not "recently" added

    <dateadded>1</dateadded> <!-- 0 results in using the current datetime when adding a video;
                                  1 (default) results in prefering to use the files mtime (if it's valid) and only using the file's ctime if the mtime isn't valid;
                                  2 results in using the newer datetime of the file's mtime and ctime -->
