Hello,
I have some question. Can a htpc running xbmc stream blu ray copied DVDs to a hdmi matrix switch? This would allow me to watch the movies in any room? Moreover, what can kalidescape or mozaex do that a xmbc box cannot?
Hope that someone can answer me. Thanks in advance!

What will you be using in the other room to watch the movies?

I've not heard of either of those.
Looking at mozaex, they look to be more builders and installers than providers of software. They don't mention what software they use for their home theatre installations, but it would come as no surprise if they use Kodi, or other software based on Kodi.
Kalidescape seem to provide hardware solutions preloaded with a media player. Again, it is not clear what media player software they are using.

So, the most obvious distinction, is that the above two are paid products, with a good chance they are based on the Kodi software. (we are open-source, so anyone can fork it to use). We only provide the Kodi software. We don't deal with hardware. We don't sell anything. We have no store to purchase anything... in case you start seeing Kodi advertised for sale somewhere, then it is not Official Kodi and you are most likely being scammed.

Are you planning on building a theatre room? If no, then you don't need Mozaex.
Do you need to buy hardware and a media server? Then you don't really need Kalidescape either.
That is how I see it, but others are free to chime in.

From what I understand kalidescape keeps it's own locked hardware to keep copy-write at bay by insisting the original disk be tasted prior to playing from mass storage, legitimizing the collection. My understanding recently is this has been changed to a locked storage solution, when you buy media, it's scanned (I suppose online streaming has some solution). The software involved is claimed to be proprietary, but viewing images of the interface would seem to be ubiquitous with various skins.

As claimed The Ultimate 4K System includes every 4K movie available (at the time of shipment) pre-loaded onto two Terra Prime 96TB movie servers along with one Strato V movie player. Last time I looked 10 years ago, a smaller set-up was in the neighbourhood of 30K without media. If you're dropping a few hundred G's on a home theatre, this would be plug&play but there is still maintenance of the library to consider.

The Mozaex Solo 2 3D priced at $6,000 with up to 12TBs of media storage. Up to four additional Blu-ray Players may be added for $2,495 each. Nuff said.

This article would seem to lay out some options.
