YouTube quota limit - let's talk about the elephant in the room...

Absolutely love the YouTube add-on. It's been working very well for years. Also never had an issue with creating Personal API Keys and logging in.

HOWEVER:

How do you guys actually use the add-on once you sign-in, since it doesn't take long to reach the daily limit??

I'd really appreciate your take on this. It's a huge limitation. Would an official paid YouTube Premium subscription help?

How and how long on average do you guys actually use the add-on?

I imagine you are the only one seeing the elephant and white mice...
The quota of YouTube Data API is 10.000 queries per day. I can't imagine how a private user would ever exceed this limit.

How about this for an elephant in the room.  Has somebody put together an up to date quide on how to get the YouTube addon going.

I had it going a few years ago and whatever happened it stopped and I don't recall what I did to get it to work in the first place.

Is there a way of getting it going again without having to go through 165 pages of posts

Yes, I know I know. But I also know this:

I watched a few music videos (maybe for 2-3 hours) and searched for a few trailers one day and all of a sudden I was unable to use the Kodi YouTube add-on for 24 hours. It happened quite a few times. Since then (maybe over a year ago) I only used YouTube without signing in. Maybe something changed. But that's what happened.

Now I have logged in once again and will test. Let's see how fast I'll reach the limit this time. Maybe I won't. Would be awesome!

There are specific video add on posts already, any issues with a particular add on should be posted there imo

I've literally never had this happen when using my own API keys and I watch 2-5hrs of YouTube per day on the addon, depending on what day of the week it is.

I'm watching a ton of videos per day sometimes, and a lot during a week. And I only had once in 3 years a limit thing, I'd say these are very rare

hope you were able to use the links and create the API keys.

@DJ_Izumi & @vitusson :

thanks guys! Appreciate you sharing your experiences! So far so good here. It's been well over a year since I had logged in and used YouTube with all my subscriptions. Now it's been the second day and not sure what changed but I haven't reached any limits (yet).

Fingers crossed! Would mean the Elephant has actually left the room. Smile

Anyone else's Queue and Playlist extremely buggy and unstable when adding over ~10 YouTube videos to queue?

The quota would say that it was exceeded the second trailer that I watch
