Any chances of getting this addon working on Kodi 18.9?

Unfortunately no, because of the different python versions. KODI 18 (Leia) still uses python v2, while KODI 19 (Matrix) and above switched to python v3.
It would require quite some code re-work to make it work with python v2, which is no longer supported since ~2 years.

Is there a reason why you can't update to at least KODI 19 "Matrix" ?

Problem is that I am running it on a pi3 with libreelec 9.2.8, which is the most recent version recommended for hevc playback with that hardware.

I see, I'm afraid I can't help you with that. The effort it would take to support python v2, deprecated KODI / Python functions & APIs and to test everything on all platforms would be too high.

The only (obvious) suggestion I have for you is to upgrade your PI & KODI and/or switch to a cheap Android TV box/stick.

Thanks for the info - I think I will leave things as they are for now and put a fancy new pi5 on my wish list. At least I know I would not be switching for an easily resolved issue. ^_^

I also found an unofficial libreelec (kodi 20) 11 fork with pi3 hevc support that I might try, but it apparently has issues and hasn't been updated for over a year, so I am not getting my hopes up for that one.

Minor annoyance and I would like to know if it happens on others too.

My system's locale is en_us and kodi's locale is english, so the addon shows the temperature in F and the precipitation in inches. For that reason, I have changed the addon's setting so as to show the temperature in C and the precipitation in mm.
And although it seems to work on the right side of the screen where the forecast is, I still get the temperature on F on the left side where the current conditions are mentioned.

Kodi 21.1, openmeteo 1.0.0 from the kodi repo and confluence as the skin.

Yes, that's normal behavior for most skins, to fix it :
  • In weather add-on settings change "Temperature" and "Speed" unit back to the default value "Application"
  • in KODI change "Settings --> Interface --> Regional --> Temperature Unit / Speed unit" to your desired value (advanced/expert setting)

Temperature and speed unit are normally handled by KODI, only skins that fully support the addon will work correctly when changing this stuff in addon settings.

Any chances of getting this skin "estuary.openht" working on Kodi 19.5 Matrix?
I tried to install this skin but I get an error message:  Dependency of xbmc.gui 5.17.0 could not be satisfied" when installing openht skin for Kodi 19.5 Matrix.
Otherwise, great job

Sorry, I don't think so because of similar reasons why I don't support KODI 18 and below. There are not that many KODI users on older versions and only a handful of that would probably use my estuary mod anyway.
So, for now I have to spend my limited dev time working on my upcoming addons (text to speech, news, metadata, skin v3) and on my all-in-one KODI client "OpenHT".

Again, my suggestion would be to upgrade to the latest KODI version and/or switch to a cheap Android TV box/stick if possible.
