iOS App Store version possiblity

In the last 3/4 months in the App Store there are some apps like RetroArch or UTM that before weren’t. Can the Kodi team try to publish Kodi in the App Store?

Given this was posted with iOS in the title, I think it's reasonable to assume the OP is asking about an Apple AppStore version.  My recollection is that at least one of the sticking points was the add-ons.  I don't think Apple has in the past allowed apps that download new code after review to be part of the AppStore.  As the OP noted, things may have changed, so it might be worth another look.  That app isn't something I've been involved with, so hopefully someone from the team who has can chime in.

perhaps
if that was the only precluding factor then assuming retroarch operates as it does on other platforms where it downloads cores after the fact then it would be about the same as Kodi downloading addons

apple allowing it might be a good step forward in showing the world at large the legitimate use of kodi and shake off the bad image it has received because of people abusing it
