HTPC's and the scaling thing?
#1
Hi,

there is one thing i don't like with HTPC - they send the resolution i gave my graphics card.

I think the best thing would be if the player changes the output to the video resolution, like i can do it with my BluRay and DVD Players.

So you ask why - because i thing my Reon HQ chip in my Denon makes a better scaling then FFDShow or the graphics card.

I'm the only one whos thinking about this fact?

I always use the search, but if you use the wrong search words...

And in a forum like this one with so many posts you get 100 of sides but a lot of stuff you where not searching for.

Me and the vBulletin search is another thing. Always to be at war with...
I hat a vBulletin forum myself and i think phpBBs search is better. But thats another story.

I belive its forum standard, if somebody asks something, to say he didn't used the search Wink

Tip; Use more keywords with "AND" or "OR" when searching (CAPITAL LETTERS on "AND" and "OR") Wink

examples:
- cat AND dog
- cat OR dog

...this of course works with google too and any other search engine Nod

Thanks for the tip. Hm most of the time in google i use quotes around what i search.
I tought the AND is standard in the search, respectively has higer priority in the forum search. So first the search looks for posts with all of the words...

No, without "AND" it searches for exact match, so if you search for "cat dog" then it must be written as "cat dog" in the post in that order with no other words between them, but if you search with "cat AND dog" then those words can be anywhere in the thread.

[EDIT]: Wildcard "*" is also good to use, for example apple* find posts with 'apple' and/or 'applesauce'
