Wma3 is a moving target in ffmpeg upstream. I bet your issue is more the "8 chan" rather than wma3.

I have seen some old forum posts and that wma is not supported if this is still the case then fair enough

I would guess that "media player classic home cinema" does not use ffmpeg.
