How to edit the text that is rolling in the bottom of the mainmenu?
#1
Hey!

I just download the newest version of XBMC on my HTPC.
I just wondered how I can edit the text that is rolling in the bottom of the mainmenu?
Is it fetching from a feed or something? How can I edit the feed adress, or the edit the text?

Let me translate that for you. You should try searching the wiki and the forums before you post obvious questions.

Just be careful with cut/paste. The CNN feeds have updateinternal instead of updateinterval.

I have now edit the rssfeed.xml:

Quote:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

<rssfeeds>

<set id="1">

<!-- RSS feeds from skynews.com !-->

<!-- World News !-->
<feed updateinterval="30">http://alkjeks.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default</feed>

</set>

</rssfeeds>

But it still shows "XBMC - media center - Linuxtag here we go... "

you have to update the one in the userdata folder, not the one in the xbmc folder

Is it possible to write a text instead of a rss feed?

As it is the rss control you're seeing i guess no - or maybe stick your text in an rss feed Smile
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

yes, stick it in a rss file (local/smb/http does not matter) and point a feed to it. voila

that actually brings up an idea to pipe good old /usr/games/fortune into a feed Smile
