i downloaded some fonts from mplayer hq and it helped a bit. but what puzzles me is why is the osd text crystal clear, but the subtitles are smeared and generally don't look good, especially on lighter backgrounds. is there any file i can moderate to adjust this myself?

btw, i use the anisotropic filter...(?)
