I've noticed there is a huge online debate about 720p vs 1080p. Some say dont bother with 1080p unless your screen size is 50" or bigger. Anything below 50", you would be hard pressed to find any noticeable differences unless your sitting 3 feet away from the tv. Others say go 1080p regardless. My HDTV supports both res and is 40". My PC is hooked up to my HDTV via HDMI. Currently, Im using xbmc for all my standard DVDs (ISO) and Cyberlink for any Bluray that i purchase or rent. I have no bluray's at the moment so its pretty much just rentals...
Do you think I should keep my desktop res at 720p (1280 x 720) or 1080p (1920 x 1080). If i stick with a res of 720p instead of 1080p, like what the people say in the first point, will i get better picture quality with my standard DVD's (ISO) because it doesnt have to upconvert to 1080p?
What do you think? I am going to test out both scenarios and give my opinion once my tests are done.
